La misa vasca 1971
In the short film La Misa Vasca (The Basque Mass), Antonio Mercero shows a traditional Sunday mass. The novelty is that the ceremony includes elements of Basque culture: txalaparta players, bertsolaris, a group of musicians singing Basque songs, a dancer... The narrator affirms that incorporating native culture into Christianity is an added value. The mass is located in Lasarte, and both the priest and the other characters speak in Basque.
