Farmacia de Guardia 1991-1995

Farmacia de guardia is the television series to have enjoyed the highest viewership to date in Spain, with an audience rating of 48%. It was filmed and broadcast between 1991 and 1995, although it has subsequently had reruns.

The story is set in a chemist’s shop, with the pharmacist, Lourdes Cano (Concha Cuetos) playing the lead part in the series. Adolfo Segura (Carlos Larrañaga) also has strong presence in the plot. The couple has two children and although they live separate lives, the connection between them is still there: over the four seasons of the series, both constantly change partners in the endeavour to rebuild their lives. But in the end, the need and desire to maintain the family they had created prevails over their personal objectives. While portrayed less prominently, the relationship between the locals also has its importance in the script.
